This is a guest post by my 10 year old daughter. We participated in #BagItForward last year, and she was so excited when it rolled around again that she asked if she could participate on her own. She took the pictures (though I did the video), wrote the thisMoment and wrote the blog post. All words are her own
Hi! I’m Emma, and I just did Bag-it-Forward with Elmer’s! Bag-it-Forward means that I bought school supplies for children in need. You can buy school supplies and donate it to your local donation center. We went to Wal-mart to buy school supplies. You can watch the video of the great deals I found:

When we entered, on the wall was a display of Elmer’s glue sticks and pencil boxes. The glue sticks were really cheap, which was nice if you want to get a lot of them.
Our next stop was the back-to-school section. For 40 cents, you could get Elmer’s School Glue and they also had Clear Glue, which doesn’t run.

They also had rulers in that aisle, so we got those. Then I saw folders. I got several, because I thought that it would be nice for them to organize their papers. In that same aisle, there were notebooks. I like notebooks a lot, so I got 1 for each of them. Then there was a little display in the center, so we got the kids crayons, markers, pencils, and pens from there.
They were out of erasers in the display, but we found another aisle that had them. We also found lunch bags for them to hold their lunch if they bring some.
Then off to the backpacks! We found two backpacks to hold all their school supplies.
I can’t wait to give it to our donation place! This is what our packed backpacks look like, and us packing:
I am going to donate the supplies to Homeward Bound, an organization that takes in women and their kids who have been abused. They offer daycare and school, and have apartments for women and children to live in until they can get a job. They teach women how to get a job and pay bills. Doing Bag-it-Forward means a lot to me because I love donating and giving kids a chance to learn. I hope you try Bag-it-Forward with Elmer’s, and have as much as a fun time as me, and give kids school supplies they need this year! Have a great time if you try it, and hope you have a great time donating it, too!
Now through September 1st, head on over to Elmer’s Facebook page and “Like” them & Elmer’s will donate a product to the Kids In Need Foundation’s national network for free stores, where teachers from disadvantaged schools can “shop” for free for school supplies. Elmer’s will donate a variety of products including glue, foam board, project supplies and pencil sharpeners. Plus, if you watch a video on the Elmer’s Kids In Need Facebook tab and they’ll make another donation!
